It just gets so second nature to me; it's hard to put into words for somebody else. I often don't even THINK through .. let a lone TALK through the maneuvers. Kudos, man!

Eh? Wife and everyone tells me i have the patience of a saint.. dunno bout that, but ive trained up so many drivers i cant count em. Always had the ability to relate my knowledge in a way the learner can understand. Gift i guess? Kinda just makes me the go to guy.... (ego dont mind it btw :) )

Checked online a few minutes ago to figure out the process, and apparently my status has already been determined. Is this because I have a current HME and am already in the system? That's less than two working days. The gov't doesn't do anything that fast.

You can train those?!? To hear mine sometimes, you would be led to believe that they already possess all necessary knowledge about everything they may encounter, and it's up to you to understand this and stay out of the way, and especially not to annoy them by offering input. ;-)

I got buried today. I mean slammed. 33 deliveries not counting pick ups. I was out the door when I heard "Hey R/R, when you get into town, don't break anything; disconnect from your Rocky set and head straight for the Best Western hotel".

    Errrr, excuse me?

"A SLC linedriver locked his keys in his truck and wants to leave right away"

Yeah, ok, I am ######## buried. I will swing by eight stops into my route. His hotel is next to my ninth stop.

"No you won't, he is kinda a big deal linedriver and wants to go home. When you unlock his door, you need to go inside the hotel lobby and let the front desk know that his truck is ready so they can call his room."

Umm... Ok, not an issue at all, I'll even run his truck across the street real quick and top of his fuel and clean his windows before I harrass the front desk.

I ran my eight stops and pulled into the lot. Guy was by his truck with bags in hand. Fumming pissed and gave me an earful.

You want your truck unlocked or not? I can come back in two hours. I have a lift gate delivery for this very hotel.

Of course he threatened to call my TM and file a formal complaint through the company. I gave him my full name and employee number.

eh, you could have gone to the hotel first, had a nice breakfast on his room card, sat back, enjoyed the view, unlock him and then well delivered 15 or so, the rest can be returns.

why can't the office go out to unlock him? we're not talking about New York City here.

Oh, and I wish I was as thin as my patience.

HAHAHAHA.... i know, right? If I could do that, I should be immune elsewise. ;) I'm NO trainer, nope, not me. She knows the green book and HOS crap better than I. I just taught her how to shift, mostly!
