Don't know how other states do it, but in Indiana you can't call the local license branch by phone. All calls go to a main contact center and are handled there.

So I call to find out if they've received my fingerprint results so I can renew my license. The friendly but useless lady I talked to said I have to contact my local branch for that, but I have to go in person because I can't simply call them. There's the government efficiency I was expecting. I was looking in the wrong place. I wasn't rude to the lady, but I sure wasn't nice to her either when I "thanked" her for her time.

In Ohio you can call actual branches on the phone. Our main number though is a big convoluted worthless mess.

No doubt. And NOBODY seems to know the right answers to CDL-related questions (although they are often happy to make stuff up).

If y'all didn't say a mouthful there, LoL. I can't get ANY real live person on the phone for ANYTHING. Had to call our LOCAL Verizon store, and nope, not Mt. Gilead or Mansfield, the only one that didn't get me in a loop was Galion... TO PUT MONEY ON MY SISTERS PHONE. They called the 1'888 number and hooked me up with a LIVE person....... 2 days later, results.
Crazy. If they can eliminate people places and jobs, WHY can't NASA eliminate weather calamities~!?

I'm now working 13+ hours every night, 5 nights in a row and it's getting old real fast. Do as much sitting anymore as I did OTR. Typical trucking company that can't be honest about a single thing. Hours, $, everything. Nobody can ever be remotely honest. I'm seriously considering cashing in my investments, dropping my CDL, and moving on with my life doing something else. No idea exactly what that would be, but pissing my life away working 65-70 hours every week isn't the solution. There's more to life than working nonstop, but these companies think that every guy who drives a truck must be desperate and needs the $. This is my 5th company in 8.5 years and none are honest. Was a decent job until the past few weeks, now I gotta sit around waiting 3.5-4.5 hours waiting on another driver to bring 3-4 pallets and everyday I'm up against the clock. Lucky to get 6 hours to sleep and have no time for anything else. Sick of it...

    Nice Hebrew hammer.

I just can't get used to the length of pull on those.

Yeah, seems like this 'big-deal' driver is only a legend in his own mind.

Those guys are divas down there. If they want something, they complain about it until they get accommodated. They don't even dock their trailers or break their sets when they come into our terminal.

Holy crap. Brand new forklift operator is burning up clock. 20 minutes in and she is on her fourth pallet. I am delivering 13 stacks of new pallets. Her struggling is killing my time.
