Customer attitude plays a large part in MY attitude towards them as well. Like the contractor last summer who was beyond pissed about not getting a MOFFIT loader on the truck to bring it to the site.
Instead he got me and my liftgate. He also only got the end of the driveway. No way in HADES was I going to back down that twisted tree lined drive.
Or the family that was building a new home, with a narrow tar drive, and wanted me to back UP the hill and around the corner to leave it where they wanted it. They too got the END of the driveway. Let THIER contractor move it with HIS equipment.

Then there was the little old lady who ordered a new TV. Was happy to set it in her garage for her son to bring in later. Absolutely MA'AM. I'm happy to.

Or the guy who ordered a steel shed in a box. Had a SHORT STRAIGHT driveway, right off the apex of an intersection (in a very quite neighborhood).
He ASKED POLITELY if I could PLEASE back in as far as I WAS COMFORTABLE to put it near as possible to the top of the driveway towards the house. No Problem SIR. BE happy to.

Learned a lesson today. Stand back when closing roll up doors after the snow has had a chance to melt. Got a nice bath off the door.

When the floor is wet and the door is open, but the trailer has been backed into the dock ALL DAY.
Be careful when pulling the door closed.:banghead:

Had a wonderful day today. Couldn't find my truck after checking everywhere, including the shop. Someone else decided he needed it more than me, even though there were several unassigned trucks nearby. No big deal. It happens sometimes.

I get to my meet location, and my meet guy isn't there. No prob, I go off duty for a little nap. I get a canned message in response to my arrival form saying the other driver is not en route, so I call his dispatcher. Turns out he'd flaked and was no call no show, but everyone neglected to let me know or change my dispatch. I call Central and they send me to the closest terminal instead.

Still not a big deal. Welcome to trucking. Accident on the interstate, all lanes closed. I'm starting to get annoyed now, but I've still got plenty of time so I can deal with it.

I finally arrive at the terminal in the middle of a thunderstorm. Now I'm pissed. My rain gear is in my assigned truck, so I'm gonna get wet. I drag on my lightweight flannel jacket, which keeps me dry for about three seconds before a stream of cold water trickles across my back where anatomy channels it down the center of my posterior.

At least the ride back to the barn was ok. I took off my top shirt before playing in the rain, and I had an extra pair of pants in my bag, so I had dry clothes. The rest of the week should be trouble free. I think I used up my entire allotment of bad luck.

I would have a serious problem with that driver. That’s a dick move to steal someone’s assigned truck.

I usually slam the doors down as hard as I can then jump aside to let the snow fall off.

Usually we get email traffic from the Portland Shop letting us know which P&D/line truck is getting recalled for scheduled maintenance. Gives us plenty of time to clear our crap.

Too many times will a SLC driver pass through and steal one of ours at random. I've had all kinds of gear and personal equipment go missing.

Tax write off I tell myself each year .

Nothing makes me madder than someone getting in an obviously assigned truck and using it. Especially since I kept mine spotless and locked up tight, only to get it back low on fuel, unlocked, cb messed with, flat tire, etc.
The rest of your day sound like the mantra “everything was going fine, then trucking happened.”

Don’t forget the requisite bent front bumper and non functioning clutch brake that any truck that’s had an idiot drive it at some point apparently requires.
