2 hired! One daylight, one evening. Per Bill's voicemail from last night. Now maybe we can get some clean trailers, LOL

I've been noticing their trucks up here in Wyoming. Look newer than Reddaway/YRC and well-kept. Did they pay well?

You mean North Park? They run garbage equipment. A certain terminal manager out of one of the terminals stripped all trucks of their AM/FM radios. He thought listening to music or the news would slow down productivity.

They make $1 an hour more than Reddaway but their drivers never got OT until they hit 60 hours. Reddaway paid us after 8 hours. Also, NPT had very poor health benefits

I wonder if the nazi in question had the same lack of tolerance for clock milkers.

This guy in question was a real douchecanoe. He had a brand new crew working for him each week. It wasn't just the drivers that quit. His secrataries rotated out every three or four months that as well. When I trained for P&D my trainer told me to not even bother learning their names.

Their TM met me at the dock one day while I was unloading his interline freight (sometimes they get an entire pupload of freight... We spend alot of time on their dock). He said hey R/R, are you partial to Yellow? I could have you in a green uniform making a dollar an hour more than what you are making now. I respectfully decline citing the 45 minute commute each way.

I really wanted to tell him that his reputation preceeded him, but I didn't want to stir the water. He was more than generous about letting me use his equipment to not only strip their freight, but also fix all the screwups my dock crew hooked me up with.

Sounds like that area has a good manager shortage.

NPT also will have the morning crew report to work and can not punch on the clock until the trailers arrive. Winter months sometimes its 10-11 am before the freight shows up.
Drivers have been known to pay for damages they caused out of their pay check or be canned.
They also back solicit the freight turned to them.

I think NPT and Reddaway were the main culprits that couldn't hang on to their drivers in that area. The other one was MTS Freight. Their TM wasn't that bad, but their pay is some of the lowest in the state for any driving job.

Not alot of driving jobs in the Bozeman area. So many of the existing drivers rotated around the same companies.

I wonder if it's like that everywhere. I know the Belgrade NPT location gets their freight late (as you said 10-11 AM). So they hold it for the next day. So they strip and load out tomorrow's freight while the drivers leave early to deliver what they got yesterday.

I almost moved to Butte MT and thought about signing on to NPT there. Their TM was super friendly and he only had himself and one driver running freight. His driver retired after 20 something years and he offered me the job if I moved. I probably would have done it just cause their workplace was more laid back .

    speedyk and Mike2633 Thank this.
