Yeah they don’t advertise on CL or indeed unless it’s Spring time when it gets crazy. One thing I learned is they hire what they need here and there. So everyone keeps busy. They don’t over hire.

Looking at things I might get a schedule in 2 months or less. Or atleast cover a bid for a bid. They are adding more runs already. And I’m hearing some guys are in the process to transfer. Also your allowed to transfer anywhere and keep seniority and pay. Pretty cool.

Go on their website to see if they are hiring is the best way. Also it’s the easiest I’ve applied at online. Used my iPhone. If you don’t hear from them in two weeks reapply and call them or email them. I think over 6 months Ive applied 4-5 times. I suggest pestering them.

My barn has a good core of older drivers. Actually there are a lot of older drivers I see doing line and city. Now in 2017 they were very hard core when they first put the cams in. They realized their mistakes and are now lighting up honestly a lot. They are just very safety orientated and want you to rep the company as a professional. Not a hot headed unprofessional Ahole. Im definitely sipping the kool Aid.

Alright everyone it’s Acute Food Shortage Friday!

The reason I call it Acute Food Shortage Friday is because my route was so heavy it was like there was an acute food shortage on the east side. I swear everyone ran out of food. I tipped the scale heaviest load ever definitely heaviest in the branch today at 23,700lbs for 1,127 cases.

I opened up the back door of the 28' trailer and it was packed jam packed I couldn't even fit my 2 wheeler inside. I made some room in the freezer for my knock down.

Thank God I had a new trailer and GFS went expensive and specked the new trailers with the nice plat form step ladder. OMG was that thing a life saver for unloading a clogged freezer gave me an entire surface to stand and work on normally very very pleased with how that all came together.

The load actually for as heavy and as full as it was I guess was loaded up alright, literally tons of fun. They did send another driver in a van to help me at my third stop and from then on. Between the 2 of us we got it done pretty good. I am going to write my boss an email telling him to tell his bosses that the new freezer fold out step is really nice and I'm a big fan. I think most guys like it and management knows that, but it helps to let them know. Some of our newer trailers have an out side light over the freezer which is also nice and a new feature and they even had a couple that had an exterior cargo light over the back door as well. Management said the back door exterior light for some reason I think it may have been Great Dane took the light away even though GFS had it ordered in, but I guess they said the back exterior ramp light is coming back on the newer trailers.

The second photo was Hillcrest Food Service he had 2-3 stops inside the mall and there 26ft straight trucks have lift gates, that guy just drug 2 pallets right into the back corridor and was working inside out of the rain or cramped conditions of the truck pretty nice way to do it I think.

My bid tractor has been in and out the shop for dumb stuff. Been in loaners that I’ve had to swap out daily. Finally someone was bringing my bid tractor back to my barn and he ended up rolling it on the way home! He’s ok but my tractor is gone. So I’ll be slip seating for a while unfortunately.
