My company has crappy benefits my last company was better, but they distribute work here well, and you're at top rate after a year.

For example, I only drive I don't do dock work. So I work 40-45 hours typically but let's say hey I'm having some financial issues they'll tell another driver hey we know you're used to your 60-hour checks, but we're giving him some dockwork/early morning run.

We're all entitled to a certain amount of hours, but for people like me who don't do dock work by choice so they give "my hours" to the other guys who want them unless I want to claim them.

Which is nice in my opinion. I'll just live below my means and sleep in everyday :p

*Phone auto types so ignore errors

What if you're sick and there is no way you can make it to work? Or or your car won't start for some odd reason.... It can happen. But managers live in the perfect world and everything HAS TO/MUST always go as planned. They get brainwashed very well when they get trained.

Reminds me of my old job in the past at the warehouse. Supervisor said I can't approve you for that day off, because a lot of people already requested the same day, but you can go ahead and call off in the morning. How the hell does that make any sense

Back to work my 30 min is up:oops:

Yeah, it's beyond dumb. That being said I typically don't approach a manager with a request like that without at least a two weeks notice. If I need a day off I try to give em st least 2 weeks to figure something out.

anything related to the job, Doctor appointments DMV etc, i give my employer min 2 days, no way doing that crap off duty. The times i need a day off. our policy is 4 hours before your start time. If i was doing garbage side. I'd would no doubt give 12 hours. Knock on wood i don't call off anyway.

My policy, No request, Givem a heads up and ask for forgiveness later. ohwell LIFE HAPPENS !

Vacation mark on calender. first come first serve. don't even have to give a heads up. they should look.

"You took off when you weren't supposed to, because we needed you badly, so now take off three more." This is going to hurt me a lot more than it's going to hurt you. /s

Anyone in here from OD and know anything about that barn in Tannersville on rt 715? Apprently it belongs to OD, but they leased to Walmart. It used to be Roadway there, but they shut it down in 2012. Heard a rumor that lease contract for Walmart ends next year and OD will move there.

My employer won't threaten you with a good time ( time off), they will make you pound it out and make you work it out get it right. That's why us drivers complain about the easy crap, employer sticks you on that job. we marry it. It's a mind game. kinda fun and frustrating. This sucks being experienced lmao The really difficult jobs, suck it up and let your buddy coworkers know. goes a long way doing local, "help you help me" !

No wonder our dispatcher and owner gets mad at us roll off drivers. 100 different personalities and 9 drivers. Spoiled brats we are, Mind gaming.

The unions i worked for, no nonsense, 20 more people waiting for your job.
