Well gents. Looks like this might be the end of the line for me in terms of local LTL/P&D

I got my foot in the door running intermodul containers from the port to wherever on a M-F daily home basis. The starting pay is at minimum $12k more a year than what I am making now.

Big question is, if I get the job, can I still hang around here with you guys?

misterG, Bob Dobalina, Radman and 3 others Thank this.

What made you leave LTL for intermodal?

Trailer that I was supposed to take with me at the swap yesterday had a broken handle. Had to leave it at the customers yard with the freight in it. Gotta love it

I left LTL in May because I was moving to SC. I ended up picking the first job that was willing to hire me due to me being on a time crunch to get out of a hotel. I basically had to prove I had a source of income so the bank would mortgage me.

Now that I am all settled, I want to make more... And once again, I am jumping on the first ship that is passing by. I really did not mind doing linehaul back on MT. My prospective employer would have me run overnight and pay me about the same I made working for Reddaway.

Working my current cake job has made me super lazy. I really just want to drive without all the BS I dealt with when I did P&D. Some of you that followed me are probably going to chime in with "it really isn't that bad or stressful, you just ended up in a crappy mismanaged barn".

Probably true, but they poisened the waters enough for me that I don't think I can dip back into it for a while.

I hope your current employer is being straight with you on the pay--container outfits tend to be a bit shady.

But if it works out, awesome! And you can't leave--TTR wouldn't be the same without ya. Guess you're stuck here whether you like it or not. :D

Why, that's unpossible! Surely, none of our drivers would have left it in that condition without reporting it, and surely dispatch would have been right on the ball about getting it fixed!!

I'm shocked, I tell you. Shocked.

Not sure if serious or trolling:confused: I have a feeling the yard jockey that moved that trailer might have done that. Not only was the handle broken, but also the trailer was raised all the way up.

My prospective employer told me this "HR is waiting on some more paperwork so I can't do a formal interview. My guys make $1100-$1300 a week. Many make more and some make less. It depends how much you want to work."

I was just curious if you guys were gonna excommunicate me to the intermodul subfolder. I know when I found out that @Shaggy moved to roll on dumpsters, I didn't want my name associated with him anymore. I pulled his name off our mailing list for our monthly pancake social and everything.

I think our parting words were "I hope you fail, you're dead to me" .
