I work for one of Mike's competitors and work a 4 day schedule but probably put in the same hours (50 ish) and make about the same as he does paid hourly

What are the top 3 the best food service companies to work for? I always see Mclane drivers driving with the sleeper around here.. backing to some gas stations or food joints. They are out of their mind... give those guys a day cab ffs:rolleyes:

Mclane has two divisions. One for c-stores the other restaurant. The ones I deliver to seems the c-store trucks are 80%+ team. The restaurant are 60%+ team. Just going by what I see of their trucks rolling in and out of the dc’s.

Team, sleeper, AND having to handmuck a trailer load of cases while operating a full size trailer in a city P&D environment? Probably not for me.

    Hey @Mike2633 @Cardfan89

Do they just pay you by the hour? I had an acquaintance that ran for a beverage distributor. He was paid salary plus a commission per case unloaded. Curious if you guys got compensated the same way.

I'm strictly by the hour with ot after 10 since I'm a 4 10 guy if I worked all 5 days it would be ot after 8

How does “production pay” work out for you when you’re forced to sit around waiting for the warehouse? I heard the hourly pay is relatively low, since the other pay components balance it out. I’m straight hourly at a competitor, and it really doesn’t bother me too much when I have to wait, since I’m getting $26/hr to sit there (and it pushes my last few stops into OT).

    Mike2633, road_runner and Cardfan89 Thank this.
