I believe you misunderstand--I refer to the fact that we drivers ARE the dockworkers. We have each others' backs when loading, because the Golden Rule is a real and present concept here.

I haven't been feeling good lately (sick) and I've also been at work. Well not tomorrow I had to finally first time in almost 4 years burn a sick day. I can hardly talk and I decided to go to the doctors. The nurse practitioner looked at me and said "yep you've got strep throat."

Which is good they have me on some medication now.
However I managed to do 40,680lbs 33 stops and 1600 cases all with strep throat a cold and a fever. I think that's pretty good and not being able to really talk.

Mike feel better . Know that job will make you sick . 90* out side 20* inside .
Couple people know I been sick last few weeks . Could not handle food . New Years Day walked in the ER . About 4 hours later was told I had a restricting kidney stone . Spent the night in the hospital , and late yesterday afternoon sent a laser up to blast it . Been rough 3 weeks , following with a couple more rough days . Only a couple people I would wish this on .:jerk:

    Thanks,
Kidney Stones are no good. When I was in high school I didn't drink enough water and ended up creating "crystals" which are the start of Kidney Stones. I know sometimes some people are just prone to getting Kidney Stones.

I had to take the day off of work today, my route today I think was pretty light. I called my boss last night and couldn't even talk on the phone my voice was so hoarse. I told him I was legitimately sick my boss chuckled and said "You sound like it. We have guys who can cover you have sick days for a reason."

So I burned a sick day today. First time in almost 4 years I burned a sick day. Just hanging out at home pretty much all I can do.

The cold I have is pretty bad, but the antibiotics I think are working because my throat feels a lot better.

As much as I got treated like crap at my last job, I was rarely screwed on the way my freight was loaded. But if it was, they always gave me a heads up cause they couldn't load it any other way and make it fit .

Everyone working a forklift was usually a company driver with 10+ years. Very competent and knew what they were doing.

Having to dumb one’s self to the lowest common denominator is a revolting notion.

I'm usually the lowest common denominator.
According to the rest of the idjits I work with.

But it might have something to do with having to tell a couple of them where to go and the most efficient way to get there with a stick shoved up it.

Mike2633 and Gearjammin' Penguin Thank this.
