My outfit won’t turn a guy around from that far away. They’ll just stick it on another truck going near that direction and have him meet me.

That actually makes alot of sense . I was definitely annoyed that my 8 hour trip turned into a 13 hour trip. Back then I was still being paid by the hour . Since this year I am now salaried so there is no way in hell that I would just tack on another 5 hours to my day out of the convenience of the company.

If your phone has it, Airplane Mode shuts off all the radios in the phone. All calls will go to VM. Seems just the same as if you had no coverage.

I recently discovered Do Not Disturb mode which kills all your notifications but keeps everything connected to the network .

Last time they "talked to me about it" I told them I am supposed to be driving a truck, not operating a call center.

I use DND for 10's so I can see who called/texted when I check my phone. But it will still ring several times on their end like you're ignoring them. You can also set any contact to go directly to voicemail, which will also simulate no signal.

I wish there were a way to block the call from even reaching your phone from further up the chain, like they wouldn’t even get through. Blocking a number on iphones still allows the offending parties to leave messages. They just show up as “blocked messages” on the voice mail list.

You can do it with Sprint by logging in to the website and changing a setting in your account page. I bet other carriers have something similar.
