Props to you guys and gals that use lift gates day in and day out. I had to use one all day today and it was a PITA. Had to partially breakdown a pallet in the trailer since it would have tipped over if I lowered it on the liftgate. Once the pallet was small enough I was able to push it to the customer's door and break it down from there outside (pallet wouldn't fit in the doorway of the customer), all while raining with a dolly. I was at the customer for an hour and a half unloading. Also delivered a pallet to a house but my pallet jack would not fit in the pallet so we had to break that pallet down from the truck and carry everything.

Seriously, after using a liftgate, I have great respect for the straight truck drivers and trailers with them. You guys are the real superheroes. I hope to never do that again.

    misterG Thanks this.

MEH, after a while you get used to it. And PRAY to never have to use.

The best part about running a route that takes you 90+ miles away from the yard is the nice cool air conditioned ride back.

His always works. If it goes down, it's not for long. Another bonus working for Dayton Freight.

Two jobs ago I was in a truck with broken AC for 3 entire summers in a row. Makes me truly grateful to be where I am.

Sure, until you have to do some Dudley Do-Nothing’s pickups along your way back.
