    Because it involves WORK.
Has little to do with wages and equipment. At least for many of the younger workers.
May of the older drivers we've had come in recently. Took issue with the wages and equipment that we have\offer.
But many of them came from MUCH larger companies where they were literally just a number, instead of a face remembered and known by name.

    Mike2633 and road_runner Thank this.

This is what makes my run nice. Very LITTLE slip seat. I get the same truck most every day. With someone else, OCCASIONALLY using it for line-haul.

    Last Monday.
Get a Residential who bought a zero turn from Home Despot online. Wants it in his garage.
Driveway is TOO narrow to get into with my 48 and SA tractor.
Road is TOO NARROW to turn into his driveway, without dropping that trailer axles into his ditch and crushing his plastic Culvert.

He got it on the end of his driveway.
After #####ing about us not having the moffit lift that he was told it would be delivered with.

@road_runner It was funny you mentioned those rollup doors. I had 7 of those friday, 10 feet long and about 300 lb apiece.

    Mike2633 Thanks this.

It's a riding mower. Uncrate it at the end of the drive, put fluids in it, and ride it to where you want it. Is it really that hard?

    But , but....

    “They said....”

    “I paid for....”

Oh, and let’s not forget the old “you need to take that wood back. I don’t need that”.

Before I quit Reddaway, I got to the point where I gave the customer a choice.

I can drop it right here, and I will get it as close as I can on to your property, or you can come pick it up from my terminal. We will load it into the back of your truck or trailer. We are located half an hour down the interstate. Exit 278. Your call sir/ma'am.

That seems like a perfectly good response to a difficult situation. I’ve had the same crap. Some lady argued with me because supposedly I was supposed to take her extremely heavy dresser or cabinet or whatever it was inside and assemble the #### thing.

That service is coming soon enough. FedEx is testing it in certain cities right now.
