yeah, at that point, you know you're ####ed and nothing you can do is going to save your job.

and start cleaning my personal stuff out of the truck.

I will. I've got a story about almost ending up like that guy early on in my career, but my very short chase ended successfully! Mine would've been pretty spectacular if I failed and was definitely on video because I was at a prison at the time...

I'll relate it here if I get some time tonight.

    Today was straight truck day.
I promised my self I wouldn’t turn the wheel the wrong way.

Well I ended up turning the wheel the wrong way a couple times and found my self reaching for the stick shifter and the clutch. The truck has one of those newfangled automatic transmissions.

I like to stage cases on the lift gate it’s easier then running up a ramp. Maybe a little slower, maybe but easier then a ramp.

When someone says to you "Sir, you need to remain behind the yellow line"

Flashing my driver badge and saying "don't worry, I'm LTL. I do this all the time, let me give you a hand with that dock plate" is not the correct response.

Yeah, some places get real bent out of shape about that these days. I think the reason might have something to do with lawyers.

Usually large plants or anything that is a corporate chain (like Costco). Different places have different policies, but they mostly aim at reducing the chances of injury, and many places will eliminate the common factor by baring them entry to certain areas.

It ties in with what @Bob Dobalina said. If you get injured on a dock that is owned by a mega corporation, you may have a long line of slimy lawyers lined up that would be more than happy to get you compensated for your pain and suffering.

Oddly enough, another fellow P&D driver that started with me last week got injured by a customer's forklift today. Had to be wheeled off by an ambulance and everything. Curious to see how this one pans out.

I absolutely HATE getting that line. When I had my own rig, that was usually my cue to call the broker and tell them we were going to be seeing detention charges. Places who play that way usually think they're the only place you need to be for the better part of your work day.

It's asinine. When I worked Reddaway, I saw a YRC guy get banned from the building cause he decided to jump on their forklift.
