Random LTL Rants (all are welcomed)

Hey FedEx guys, most of your trucks are what Kenworths? With some of the little Peterbuilts for city trucks?
Most of your Volvo's were from acquisition no?
FedEx isn't buying any new Volvo's are they?

 

Most are Petes--the KW's and Volvos are being phased out AFAIK.

We probably won't be buying any more Volvos for a long while--they tried to set terms about using Volvo dealers for maintenance instead of our own shops, and FX said F.U.

 

For road trucks, my terminal currently has about 50% Volvos and the rest is a mix between Peterbilt, Kenworth, and Freightliner. I looked around the hub last night when there were 75-100 road trucks from other terminals outside, and the newest ones I could see were Internationals and Kenworths.

Our city drivers have all kinds of different trucks. The dedicated city trucks are a mix of little Peterbilts, KWs, and Freightliners. They also have retired road trucks from Volvo, Peterbilt, KW and International.

 

300 miles total for the week so far and a few dock hours. Weathers looking good all weekend and there’s a lot of happenings in my area. Most definitely using a personal day tonight.
