Looks like there will be parking on the street. I guess the 43 miles on my empty pay is the miles from Ogden to Hyrum, because I'll only be 2 miles from my pick up in Vernon. The place doesn't seem trucker friendly from google maps. That is I don't see a dock area and there entrance and exit seem to be a little tight as well. Might have to call and see how to get in that place. Anyway we back quiet.

Well made it to receiver a few hours ago. So hopefully will get this load off in the morning. Get next load and head on up to Utah. Only time will tell. G night and a better day more later.
mje Thanks this. -
There's a McDonalds right there in Vernon corner of Soto and Bandini that has a few spots for trucks to park. Says 2 hours max but lots of guys pull 8 or 10 hours there.

Well its Real Time and another change of plans. Not going to Utah after all.
Picking up in Buena Park, CA and Going to Englewood,Co So far has load mile 1015 Mt miles 81 but they have me routed to our yard in Greeley for A service so maybe that's where the empty miles come from. More info more later now going to google maps to see where this place is. G day folksmje and scottied67 Thank this. -
In the trucking industry the only thing you can plan on is the plan changing!
Besides the truck stop guide book there are some really good apps for you phone that you can use.
There is a CAT scale app and several truck stop apps. There is even a Blue Beacon app to help you find the nearest location. By far the best app is DAT Trucker Services! It not only shows truck stops but also their amenities. It also shows rest stops, scales, truck washes and even the nearest Walmart! Really good app!
Once you click on your chosen truck stop it automatically links to your navigation and takes you there. -
Real Time update on the side of the road in Nevada trying to let the engine cool down. It shut down on me. Hope to be rolling soon.
mje Thanks this. -
Real time update. What a day what a day. Almost 10 hours of driving and only 468 miles. Just another day in LA.
Actually beside the fact I couldn't find the company I was picking up at. Getting familiar with Buena Park, CA. Spent lots of time in the Vegas 5 O'clock traffic. I didn't know that many people actually live there. Then spent another considerable amount of time at the Las Vegas Pilot. Just trying to get in and trying to get out. I sure hope they got a deal on that price. Most of the time they let us fuel at the petro. Then the over heating thing that made me shut down just about a mile before I topped the hill. I don't know what's wrong with her. She is just not pulling like she use too. Plus this Arizona ice tea in the trailer is pretty heavy. She is just not use to these Left Coast hills. Hope we can make it through the Colorado mountains without over heating. Any way its been a long day and as my wife would say. I'm about to watch the movie on the back of my eye lids. Be cool on your stool and we will be right back in REAL TIME.mje and scottied67 Thank this. -
What a day what a day. Should be sitting at receiver but nope. Looks like I may be a few hours late. I got up this morning checked everything drove about 60miles and truck started to over heat again. This time called road service because I know I 70 is nothing but hill/mountains. So called a guy out and told me it was the fan clutch. It wasn't cooling the motor so. Had to go back about 15miles and get a new fan clutch installed. So now 157miles away still have a few hours left but not real sure about the places to park. So I parked in a rest area. It too was full but there's a place for cars and I just pulled in it. There's plenty other parking for cars. Just hope nobody tells me to move. Anyway will take an 8 hour break and get going as soon as I can. Also truck is running better and could explain why I was burning so much fuel. Time for shut eye. You folks be good now ya hear
scottied67 and mje Thank this. -
Did you get the bearings redone? Always good to do while you are in there.
If you ever over heat again, make sure the a/c is off and turn the thermostat all the way to hot. Then turn the fan on high. This will help cool it down quicker.Dinomite, scottied67 and mje Thank this. -
Wow thanks I'll remember that next time. I'm not sure if they did bearings or not. All I know is they asked me if I wanted to take the huge fan clutch with me. I told them no.
Well made it to Englewood, CO 1 hour late not to bad. In door now about to get unloaded. Also have a pre plan picking up in Greeley, CO going to Buda, TX and Houston, TX.
Paid miles is 1130 due dates are Pick up in Greeley 11/10/12 @ 10am, Deliver in Buda,TX 11/12/12 @ 6am Us food service. Last stop is 11/13/12 no apt time yet. Mostly first come first serve at Freedman, Dist Houston, TX.
Well I'm going to figure out how to do this. Only will have about 6.5 hours left on 70 once I get to Greeley. Will be losing close to 13 hours sat night, and almost 10 Sunday night, and almost 9 Monday night. Shouldn't be a problem just hoping I have enough hours to get home by Wednesday and should be back on the Road Saturday. We will keep you updated on the events. Catch you more later on Real time.mje and scottied67 Thank this.
