Is there a good system that can be installed at the rear of the trailer to give the driver a clear view of what is behind him when backing up? Where would the camera be mounted?

Not even sure it would be worth it unless you have the same trailer all the time.

    Never seen anything like it.
Should be able to put something together if one owned their own equipment.

I am thinking that there should be a system with a camera that has a magnetic installation for the rear and a temporary installation for the cab?

I could see it working on a straight truck. I think it would be too much of a hassel on a tractor-trailer.

Besides, I agree with BrenYoda that G.O.A.L is the best way to know for sure.

A camera would be nice as a tool in case someone walks behind you and then try to say you ran them over and blah blah blah. Then you get into the whole issue of you can't record me without my permission even though I am standing in a public area and there 20 other cameras recording me right now.

I will admit that I have a dash can in my truck. My own cam and not a company one.

Yup.. was actually not flexing my comedic muscle....

Evev if I was pulling a trailer equipped with a rear view I would still Get Out And Look... why? Because things on the right or blind side of the truck have been known to move.. concrete pillars, lamp posts.. just ask around and I am sure you will find a driver that has experienced that... although they might not be the driver in front of you at the McDonalds, they will be the one cooking your burger...

It is my firm belief that lamp post and pillars dont move closer to my truck because I G.O.A.L... it keeps stationary objects in their place...

The only thing you are going to get with a "back up camera", is a stolen camera when you wake up in the morning... just my opinion
