Would you buy it for $24k? Engine was rebuilt by freightliner according to the seller, still waiting on rebuild paperwork to verify. The truck is 2002 century.

edit: I would have another $20k for repairs and maintenance.

600k is up there. Sure if it was maintained well it should get a million. But at 600k anything could happen. If the rest of the trucks good maybe see if it has blowby, verify papers, and an oil sample it could be a good deal. But it could also blow up a mile after you sign the papers.

Is the engine a 12.7? How many miles on the truck over all? Were the rears and transmission replaced?? If the engine is a 12.7 600k is nothing as long as the block was cut, and the bull gear was replaced. $24k is overpriced in my opinion, $18k is more reasonable. However the current truck market is a sellers market not a buyer's market right now.

But the rates...... I like the idea of no emissions. But all the wires are 22 years old. 21 whatever. Truck is old enough to drink.

The rates are another issue. I would agree now is not the time to become an owner operator, but I was just answering his question.

I am a owner operator, and run otr in a 2000 Peterbuilt. The age of a truck isn't as much of a problem as you think as long as it was well taken care of. And it is really really nice not to have emission components and run paper logs. (My truck has a 1997 engine).

I agree!! It is way overpriced!! And so are the $130k Freightliners with 550k on them. And just about all trucks are overpriced right now. But what amazes me is people are actually buying them
