Received an offer to sell a company. Is it a scam?

    Recently received an email from the company Transport Texas (domain transporttexas.info). They said they're a private equity-backed investment group currently acquiring in the state of CA. They're willing to buy my company for 5-7X yearly profits. That doesn't sound too bad unless this is a scam.
    What do you think? Has anyone received offers like that? Scam or not a scam?

    I’ve had offers but not a company saying they will give those profits and especially without proof. I’d say a scam.

    LOL. Of course not. just few. But they never asked how many trucks I have. I thought, if they legit, they act as a broker and looking for good-standing MCs to re-sell. But they also seem more scams to me.

    Maybe but most of these brokers are not looking at <10 unit fleets.

    Be aware that as the world becomes more complex and AI becomes stronger, it will become increasingly easy for people who dont evn know our language to create scams that seem pretty believable.
    There is a tsunami of this crap building just off our shores.

    I had a big long text and then follow up email about wanting to buy your company, but they basically wanted MC, They didn’t want any assets.

    I deleted it.

    Unknown emails and unknown phone calls get instantly ignored/deleted these days. If I don't know you or don't already have you in my circle I really don't have the time, energy, or trust anymore.
