Hello, so I work for CR England next week I'll be gettibg on the fleet doing recovery , from what I as told if I'm on a bus or headed to the truck in any way it's $160 a day, driving $160 honestly it sounds really great and I'm stoked, anyone who is doing recovery for a company currently or has in the past ho could give me there own insight?
    Thank you

    Oh boy.
    LOL
You must promise to keep us updated, with lots of photos, of the trucks you recover.

As bad a company as England is, this sounds like a pretty good gig.

I don't currently do that, but I used to. The company I worked for paid me by the hour while traveling to get the truck. They also paid the airplane and or rental car. A lot of times I flew to the closest airport, but would have to get a rental car or taxi to get to where the truck was located. Once I got the truck, I was paid by the mile on the odometer and they covered my meals and hotel every night.

    Pros:
    - Pay was good ($1000-$1200 bring home on average)
    - No out of pocket expenses
    - Got to see some pretty cool trucks
    - Never had to deal with freight

    Cons:
    - Inconsistent work. You make good when you're busy, but sometimes the work just isn't there.
    - Lots of flying (I hate flying)
    - Had to front a lot of my own money up front (then get reimbursed)
    - Had to go into some real dumps occasionally
    - Sometimes I'd get to towing/recovery yard only to find the truck wouldn't start, or the paperwork wasn't in order, or they hadn't been paid yet and wouldn't release the truck to me.
    - Sometimes the interior was destroyed by disgruntled driver (cut up seats, etc...)
    - Sometimes the truck was just a dump because the driver lived like a pig
    - You're always driving a strange truck and that requires doing a VERY THOROUGH pre-trip.

Overall, if you can stomach some of the smelly, disgusting trucks you have to recover, you can make good money. I got tired of it pretty quick. The dumpy trucks FAR out numbered the super cool, and clean, Pete 379 types. And, I hate to fly so that got old for me.

I used to do that a lot of years ago late 80 s. You will get tired of those bus trips fast.once in awhile they would fly me to get one that was nice. But that gray dog will work on you. I don't remember what I made. Guys would guit at home a lot then don't know now with Dac and a abandment charge how many do that know
