If anyone is interested, I found this nifty video about red light cameras:

I enjoyed most the part of the video where Steve Lehto tells about the law professor who was mailed a ticket after tripping a red light camera. The specific rule was that a police officer was required to view the camera photo thereby "witnessing" the traffic infraction, and then signing off on a citation being mailed. Since the person reviewing the camera photo was not a sworn officer, the ticket had to be dropped.

I remember in Arizona when red light and speed cameras were all the rage among corrupt municipalities, one of the rules was that any out of state violators would be mailed a ticket, but they could not legally be required to pay the infraction fine.

In my case, and every other driver in the Sacramento area, they not only have mutiple photographs of the vehicle from behind, but from the front too, as there is a camera on the opposite side of the road. If the driver is not clearly seen, they include a form that, under
perjury, the owner of the vehicle must sign, and indicate who _was_ driving the vehicle.

There is also a short video clip that is included as well. That is not to say that we VICTIMS of this police injustice did not TECHNICALLY "Run A Red Light", but when the Yellow Light is set much too LOW, anyone who could NOT stop for the yellow light, is now considered to have been guilty of an infraction of the vehicle laws.

There IS a way to stop this con-game, same as many laws have been, over the years.

Have the federal government set a standard that meets a reasonable set of 50 state standards
that mandate that all 50 states would have to abide by in regards to the timing of yellow lights.

Of course this isn't likely to ever happen, since it invovles the fleecing of people of thier hard-earned money, using something that cannot be dragged in to court, and found guilty; the camera or dare I say it, the corporate CEO's owner's of such devious, unjust devices.

They know that most people cannot afford the time and money invovled in doing so, wheres the court, the company who OWNS the cameras and the officer who goes over the camera "evidence" can easily do so, since all have .gov and/or union pay and protection and lots of money to try such a case. You lose, they win, until such a time when they are outlawed as
they are in nine US states.

They just send to ticket to whoever the vehicle is registered to and count on most people just paying the ticket. The worst thing you can do is go to court to "face your accuser". Your face is what will convict you if it matches the face in the video. Try hiring a local attorney. He may get it dropped because they can't identify who was driving.

Of course, if you are leased on to a company and have your registration through them, they will get the ticket in the mail, and they will most likely make you pay it. Or they will pay it for you and deduct it from your settlement.

Here's the story happened with me this morning at the same city hannibal. Mo

The traffic lights cameras I guess flashing on me at the intersection the traffic was going slow and me was going around 25mph the thing mess up my view was semi truck front of me almost covered the light ones I got little bit before the line I saw the light was orange then changed to red and it was confusing at that time so may 2 feet made the difference.

Camera tickets go to the registered owner of the vehicle, not necessarily the driver.

You've already asked this question elsewhere in the forum and you received quite a few good answers, There's no need to post the same question over again.
