    Would like to know experiences with reefer monitoring. I have under 5 reefer trailers. What is a good monitoring system. I want temperature, GPS, and speed it is moving. Any suggestions?

    When I was out counting tires I’d check the thermometer in the back of the load, and have a look around to see where I was while I was out there. And I looked at the speedo, when it worked, to know how fast I was going. Id have a thermometer get away in a case of lettuce every now and again, but other than that the system worked fine.

    We use Orbcomm.. Monthly cost per unit is pretty good for the features.

    I have Orbcomm on my one trailer. $18/month. I don't remember it tracking vehicle speed, but it has a lot more than just GPS & temperature.

    The newer units will show vehicle speed at the time of reporting within the Cargowatch portal.

    If they are Thermo kings then TracKing does everything you need. Works well and can remote start and stop as well as fuel level, doors open/close, location, speed, etc.
