Before loading any produce. Did you check the produce, put a thermometer in to check temp of product? Two basic first steps before i ever loaded vegetables or produce. I use to haul a lot of it out of California, Southern Texas, and Florida. Always check the produce looks, and temp before first pallet goes on trailer. If they refuse to let you do this. Note it in paperwork, and to company so releases u of fault.

I would email the broker and tell him he owes you $1000 a day for everyday you've been dealing with this and you've got your attorney involved because they are holding you hostage. I had a broker lie to me about my delivery date, even put the "bad" date on the rate con. Customer wouldn't take the load until Monday and this was Thursday. I told broker no way I was sitting under it. They offered me $200 for the time sitting under it. I rejected that. They then said they would be calling the law cause I was holding their product hostage cause I wouldn't wait and deliver it for the little money they offered. I countered with our attorney will be contacting them cause they are holding me hostage. We had an agreement and it changed without my approval. No new rate con, no new deal. They ended up getting me unloaded that day.

A little different scenario but you should have the same rights.
