Reliable drivers are some of the best in the business. We at PMTG have a great working relationship with you guys. We have alot of respect for each other and I personally have learned much from speaking with your drivers. All in all a good group of professionals.

Those of us who work at Reliable thank you rainman. We really do take pride in what we do. What Reliable Driver said about the company was very true, You have to dedicate yourself to the company or you won't enjoy, or make it here. I've been here since 1989 and have seen it in the "good" times and the bad, but I'm still here and couldn't imagine working anywhere else. It's certainly not for everyone. We deal with the best people in the country and they expect perfection without compromise every time. There is no such thing as "being late" or being rude to the customer. But, our customers are always happy to see us and many have become good friends to us drivers. It's a totally different relationship than any other type of driving job and we like it that way.

Two things, the last year I hauled cars was 1983, I made$ 82,000, driving a co truck for 25%.
The second thing is That I worked at a Ford Dealer in Norwalk CA. and Reliable dropped off Three FORD GT's, not Mustangs, the real good kind, mid engine, ect and while evryone was looking at the cars, I was scoping out the trucks, Boy wish I had one of those to drive, the drivers were great and allowed me to stomp around in the trailer, never got to the apartment tho, wish I could have. In case any body wants to know the reason Reliable paints their trucks that color, they used to be agents for Allied Van Lines, I hauled a few of their bookings in the late 70s when I drove a parking lot for Allied. -
It is with a heavy heart yet fond memories that I add to my previous comment of a few years ago. First I must say that I will always love the Reliable Carriers that I and so many of our loving friends built over the years and am in no way a disgruntled former contractor. In the past three years economics in the auto industry have been common knowledge and have affected Reliable more than most other companies due largely to our specialized nature. However instead of embracing the drivers and riding out the storm Tommy, Tom Abrams, broke with the traditions of his parents and through RCI Logistics and other common forms of theft in the industry began a parasitic relationship with the tenured professionals that made his family the object of obscene wealth. Tommy changed thus Reliable changed. The beginning of the end was a team named Voir. With no experience, common sense or professionalism these two idiots could drive 10,000 miles every week. They had no respect for customers, laws or equipment but Tommy loved how fast they could turn a trip. After all of the damage claims "9 speed" & his wife made him money, a lot of money. The beginning of the end had begun. Sometime later the Pecharts were hired on the recommendation of the Voits. Not much better.
The resulting decline of Reliable has made it pretty easy to get hired. If your a team that can run insane miles while making it look legalish, if you don't need home time and you will work that hard for 20-25% what we did then welcome to the new Reliable Carriers. Most of us old guys are gone and retired since the company we so loved and built us dead and gone. There may be a dozen real car haulers remaining as the green and gung ho are left to make Mr. Abrams even more wealthy. Why didn't Tomny just sell out to Roger Penske during one of the blank check meetings instead of destroying the most professional, hard working, dedicated company in all of trucking. It certainly isn't the company I thought he wanted to leave to his son Brian. Rest In Peace Reliable from those of us that held you to the highest standards. Watch out for those big orange trucks on the road today. They aren't what they used to be and are on a road that you can never come back from. At least most of us that lived in the glory days of the company can retire with a dignity the new breed will never know. -
Sorry to disappoint. I'm a tow truck driver and just had the worst experience with Reliable Carriers of Canton MI. I had to come out with my wrecker and load the car from the ground into his truck with no help. He complained that he doesnt have a winch or cables and the car is too heavy to push. From this perspective and what he said to the customer, I rather have some highschool kid from McDonalds load a car into that carhauler. He also said if i left before the car was secured into his truck that he would unload it and leave. 10/10 best service.... not

Our highest earning company driver grossed $140,000 last year.(he has no personal life, he's from Russia. He runs off of recap working 10 hrs a day.) The average is probably 80 to 90. My buddy grossed 92, I think, pulling one of our covered waggons.
