So I was taking my 10hr break and I just had a prime driver back into my truck. No big damage just a light scrape on my mirror. I called my company to report it but I feel bad I mean it’s a tiny spot but I don’t wanna get nailed for it when I didn’t do it.
Would you report it? Should I always report it? Wow as I type this another accident just happened to an amazon prime driver.

    well that depends.

yes, i would report it, as when the truck goes in for servicing, the mechanics might very well see it and write you up.

play it safe, but if you did not get any information on the other truck, you still may be blamed, as you have no proof.

Always report the damage no matter how minor it is. Always CYA. If you don t report it, and lets say your shop sees the damage, you could be charged for an incident, and possibly termination for failure to report it

Yes. ALWAYS report damage, especially when it wasn't your fault and somebody else's insurance (or another company) will be responsible for the repair...no matter how slight. Last thing you want is for the shop to report the damage, YOU get blamed for it, and then YOU get fired for not reporting it when it happened. If YOU caused that slight damage, then it's up to you whether or not it's worth getting fired over not reporting, whether or not you'll dig into your own pocket to fix it without a report before it gets to the company to see, etc...but when it's clearly somebody else that caused it, there is no good reason to "feel bad" about protecting your own job.

To the OP. as long as you re legally parked, and your E Logs/logs are legal, you have nothing to worry about. You were taking your mandatory 10, and someone else hit you. It will go as a non preventable incident on your record

Report it get a couple photos of ALL vehicles involved as well as photo of the other drivers license, truck insurance, and registration.

The photos are super important especially if you cant immediately get ahold of someone at your company.

My company rarely files a claim on small things such as this... Companies that file claims over every little thing are greedy and get to be know as Fers to deal with.
