I use to drive for ptl. I left a week ago. So I had 2 days of no loads. I asked 3 times for information across both days. The only responses I recievered were.
"We will tell you when you will get a load."
"U got your 1500miles for the week".
"We dont run more than 1500 mile weeks usless your a very new driver cause of company costs".
On the 3rd day I cleaned out the truck. I've drove with 2 other companies across 5 yrs. For anyone who is thinking about this company. I'd advise you to look elsewhere.

Even Swift has to be better than that.

Many folks say ole Swfty Swift is. They just get a bad rap for being on Bonehead Truckers so much.

Because they have 16,000 trucks on the road. And they hire newbies. Their CSA score is actually not that terrible.

So, you didn’t ask for a new dispatcher/go through chain of command structure to see if he just didn’t know his job?
Ah well, PTL always advertised as cheap anyways, used to wanted to pay o/o 1.39/mile including FSC
Had a big trailer advertising outside their terminal in Murray, KY.

I had the thought of asking for a new dispatcher too. There was a guy driving for them that was actually doing well. He has a thread chronicling his journey for a grip. I think he started there either earlier this year or last year.

I think they enjoy their turnover rates. Probably why they purchased there own hotel. Run em in & out like a cattle auction.

Even when I was there a little under two years about four years ago it was the same deal... Once I was three months in some weeks it'd be 1600 miles instead of those 2400-10 mile weeks I was doing.

People see that CPM out of school and think: Why wouldn't you do what gives the most miles possible???? Then.... 2-day layover after a DC drop and hook because they gotta keep new hires rolling, and 40 new hires a week with 1100-13000 trucks rolling

P.S. there is no way to find out how much a company typically does layover or the average miles... The drivers lie more than the recruiters... Best I've done is guesstimate based on seeing drivers too at home at a truck stop or conversations where a driver accidentally told the truth
