What did the recruiter tell you about being with a trainer?
There's other choices that may take you also.

Transport America
Overall Schneider has a pretty good reputation. -
I was going with Schneider but ran into a medical issue that prevented it. I was told as an experienced driver I may or may not need a trainer due to not having OTR experience. If I had to have one it was going to be for 18 days including some classroom training in ATL. Over all they seemed to be one of the best big companies to go with from my research. They did start a little on the low end of cpm compared to the company I ended up with.

You've been off the road for 6 years so you will most likely have to be out for the entire time. I drove for Schneider..let me tell you now, THEY ARE VERY DISORGANIZED!!! If you aren't running TEAMS, they don't give a crap about you.

I did several stints with Schneider. First time, I had been out of a truck for five years. Didn't have to go with a trainer at all; think they started me at 36cpm.
They're just like any other company out there; be forewarned that they are quite disorganised, especially nights/weekends. If you decide on Schneider, see if you qualify for regional or Home Run.Lightside Thanks this. -
Lightside Thanks this.

I started from scratch with Schneider several years ago and spent about a week and a half with my trainer. That's all I needed and the norm back then was 2 or 3 weeks. I seriously doubt Schneider has become more thorough over the last decade.
