Don't know why drivers don't get it, the thru lane has the right of way and should keep moving without changing speed or direction, the lane that runs out is the merge lane and it is there responsibility to slow down or speed up if they can to make the merge happen not the vehicle in the thru lane. Real simple.

For instance I recieved a citation for a unneccessary lane change coming south on 101 theu King City CA, A CHP was getting on the highway from the fuel station at King City, I saw him entering the ramp rto get on to 101 south, changed lanes to the right to let him on, and he promptly pulled me over for unneccessary lane change, So I reviewed it futher with a consult of an attourney, I had the right of way and should not have moved over or slowed down, it was his (the CHP's) responsibility to correct his speed as necessary to merge into the flow of the lane traveling thru since he was in the merge lane.

Does this make him kind of a jerk, I would say , I think so, However I was in the wrong and I do not move over for merging autos or bikes, another truck maybe just depends on the situation.

What brought this up was I was traveling south on I15 coming back into Cali from Nevada, I got a green light so I went thru the prepass lane in this case. Several other trucks had to go thru the scales, there is a different speed, the Prepass lane is at 30 mph, and the scale is at 3 mph, so as I came past the merge point another truck in the 3 mph lane was pissed that I did not slow down my truck loaded heavy, they were very light to let them cut in front of me, he did cut me off, flip me off then speed up the hill. Mean time he caused me to come to almost a stop by cutting me off, causing me a 7% climb from a stop for 11 miles.
Somethings I guess you just can't teach. Life has its way of balancing though.

Driver at the scale was an a-hole driver.

CHP is an a-hole driver with a badge and a gun.

I've dealt with CHP twice. Jerk both times. I don't think they ever give warnings. Cali needs money!

I had cali pull me over. Told me my mudflap plate was dragging. Bolted it up while he sat behind me with his lights on. Waved and left.

Coolest cop I ever dealt with.
