It's called the HHG (household goods) pay scale, usually for furniture haulers. Look it up at the AMSA website.
-
Most, not all, trips air paid zip to zip. Depends on the software a company uses.
-
Or the company's contract . . . either Practical Miles, or HHG.

Usually if you are doing Zip to Zip, you DON'T have to follow their routes. Practical Miles, yeah usually they want you to, because if you are out farther they'd have to pay you more. I really don't know the laws...
@Chinatown ?? Insight?
I AGREE WITH @w.h.o ... for instance if you run a toll road that the QC didn't route you on, you're probably gonna eat that $80.00 to $100. Zip to Zip sucks here in Ohio, because there is so much rural, and the counties are huge in the amish parts, and may only HAVE one Zip Code. In more citified areas, however, its not that much difference. But yeah, $60.00 is a lot to lose, and I would address this with your DM and maybe see if you can dispute it via the contract you signed !?! I've researched that and cannot find any "rules" per se. Apparently, its up to the company, but I see your point, totally @mglenn310 .. Keep us posted as to what you find; interesting topic. Be safe, Driver.
