Dude, being overweight has nothing to do with race or religion. Either a person is physically fit or not. There's no more to it. Now back on topic.

Quite to the contrary, physical condition is NOTHING like being of a certain race or religion. Emphasis mine.
He's conflating a physical condition with membership in racial or cultural groupings. Trying to play off being overweight by comparing it to being a Baptist or having a different color of skin.

Saying it's no different than slamming someone based on race or religion means that it's the same as slamming someone based on race or religion, which means they are the same, which they are not.
He's implying that being overweight isn't a choice, just like being of a certain race isn't a choice. This is just pretzel logic. Eating and not exercising is a lifestyle choice and the result is being overweight. Being of a certain race is not a choice, it just is.

Overweight people -- regardless of their race or religion -- are less healthy than non-overweight people. Insurance companies know this. Common sense shows you this every day.
Conflation is a pretty common arguing failure on internet forums.

Unfortunately as you can see, we live in a society of almost complete sympathy vs one of personal responsibility.

Every ounce I put on in the past 10 years is my fault. I dont have a medical condition. Who else do I have to blame?

 

Actually I chose to differ with you being fat is a choice just like my religion. I can choose to be Baptist, Catholic, Pentecostal, or no religion at all, I can also choose to be fat (which I am), but comparing it to race is wrong because we can't choose our race.
