My friend had an accident out of state (1200 miles away) lost the tractor and asked for help retrieving the trailer. I am unable to get a Power Only to get us close to the trailer. He wants to book a PO load under his MC and we use my truck. Is that legal. Can I do it?
Thanks

It will be considered double brokering and you are risking a freight guard or something similar if the broker finds out

Put a sign on the door, tape it, operated by (his authority/company name)
Your truck, his authority, trip lease paperwork on hand/photo on phone, of paperwork. he still runs on his authorityedmachi and gentleroger Thank this. -

Trip leasing and double brokering are distinct practices within the freight transportation industry, though both involve the use of another carrier's equipment, they differ in legality and intent. Trip leasing is a legal practice where a carrier temporarily leases another carrier's equipment for a specific trip, while double brokering is the illegal act of a broker tendering a shipment to another broker or carrier without the shipper's consent, often leading to financial and logistical issues.
if so Ryder and Penske could not lease trucks to pull another person trailer.edmachi Thanks this.
