Here are the most common "open" channels: Legal?
LADD 1 is like 19. LADD 2-4 a little less heavily used. There are some geographical restrictions on all the channels... not that anyone really pays attention.
If you search "VHF" there's a few threads with channel info.

Not sure which way you go but on highway 37 most guys run a channel called arrow. Not sure on the frequency number but I'm sure you could find it

On the VHF radio. If you run the channels that are pre programmed on the Alaskan radios. You will use Arrow 1 pretty much all over Alaska. From Tok to the border you find guys on LADD 1 as well. The Alcan and Yukon is pretty much LADD1. The road crews and pilot cars are on LADD3 in the Yukon construction zones. The Cassiar is a mix of LADD1 and ARROW1. Also most Hoskins reefer trucks are on Whiskey(LKJ1). If you have a mic with the number and letter keys you can press and hold "C" and your radio will scan all the channels that are on the radio. If somebody talks it will stop on that channel and if you key your mic the radio will select that channel. If you ever need help with the big radio and you are in Anchorage stop in at Peggy's and look for Dan Williams.

Here are some pictures of Kluane Lake in the Yukon. This has to be one of my favorite places up North. Obviously, the pictures aren't doing the real deal any justice.

I've only seen that lake with ice covering it. Nice to see it without it for once even if it is only in a picture.

Love your work. Please keep on posting.
I have wanted to take a load up there since I was 6 years old riding with the old man. I have a file an inch thick with every load Ive seen within 400 miles of me going up there. One of these days.
