    Wow. I didn't know some Walmarts did that. I'd have gotten in trouble also. Waiting 4 to 6 hours away from a place to rest isn't any kind of option...

    I was talking to another driver during breakfast. We talke to talking about reefer problems and I told him about my recent one. With the starter frying itself because teeth on the flywheel broke and jammed the starter and fried it. How it was lucky that it even started back up. He comes back that if it was a starter issue then it wouldn't stay started even on continuous mode and the teeth on a flywheel can never break. I explained that would be an alternator issue not a starter issue because the starter is only used to start the motor and that's it. And that it was a broken flywheel that caused the problem in the first place. And that flywheels can break. The are not indestructible and are subject to metal fatigue. Hell, the unit has 13000 hours on it. And the unit has been running nonstop since the repair. Even another driver tried explaining it to him, but he was dead set on that he was right. Just can't fix stupid. Hope he never has to take his to a shop for repairs. Their're going have fun with him.

    I went to 2 Walmart interviews for a job before coming here. Had a 3rd set up and was all but hired. The money they offer is really the best in the industry but what they take from you is inexcusable.
    Just no way to live.
    Feel my choice to come to JCT instead and run things the way I want is worth it in the end. Can't deal with a big company running my life decisions...

    The Pauls Valley Walmart only does it when it's icy outside and they have stay connected to the trailer. It had turned out the reasoning behind them having drivers wait in the lounge was a Swift truck still thought it be a good idea to move his truck away from the door with the forklift guy in the trailer even though he turned in his key. If they would have explained the situation I could have worked with them, but to simply demand something and give no explaination doesn't sit well with me. Could I have handled better, yes, but so could have they.

    I only found that out when management call Walmart to figure out the whys they were doing what they were doing.

    I have multiple keys also, but don't expect me to give you a key and still not be able to wait in the truck. It should be, give a key and wait on the truck or not give a key and wait in the lounge. Not both.
