When the supplier is fined ; they will just pass that cost on to the truck carrier and on until the consumer pays the high costs of low prices ! Welcome to China-Mart !!

Target used to be the only one ... shippers weren't freaking on it. It's not the can not deliver early. It's the having to pick up early. Shippers used to have a load ready on Monday at noon for a Wednesday delivery window, 300 miles d/h. Pick it up Tuesday afternoon, deliver Wednesday morning ... easy, peasy. Now the shippers want that load picked up off the door at noon on Monday.

The cooler I picked up at the other day actually had written on their whiteboard in huge letters "Walmart charges $0.83 a minute after 2 hours of delay".
I know it's kind of an apples-to-oranges comparison to the conversation but they've got their detention down to the minute....MachoCyclone Thanks this. -
Also the article says it's speculates that bad weather may not be an excuse not that Walmart said it won't be an excuse. It also says that this applies to fast Turn full truck load Goods like groceries so this is going to directly affect reefers.
Makes me wonder about that marshmallow load I picked up picked up on a Friday for Thursday delivery from Chicago to Grandview Washington...6 days? If my 70 was full I forecasted a Monday delivery.... -

In a Bloomberg article it states they hope this creates $1 billion to revenue.
I don't know why Walmart cares because they don't pay for anything till after it's sold everything I think is paid at 30 days other than the billion in revenue for doing absolutely nothing.
The fine will be 3% of the value of the product. -
Going to be hard to compete when carriers are telling you to #### off because if the early/late fines passed on to them from the shipper.drvrtech77, MachoCyclone and crxdc Thank this.
