    Not a bad Idea.
To be clear, leaving JCT was an extremely hard personal decision. They were a good company to work for staffed with some great people, and a good option for someone wanting to cut their teeth on becoming an owner(lease)/Operator.
Schneider was my first choice when i was ready to further my career and increase my income. While still a scary decision it seemed more like a half step then the complete jump of going out on the market, buying my own rig and going to Landstar. However, they were no contracting new ICs from the Omaha, Ne area. So my mind was made up for me. Financially I have never looked back or regretted it. I take twice the time off run between 8.5-11k (total empty/loaded/personal) miles a month and averaged 1.43 for all miles last year. 1.75 cpm all miles this year to date not sure how much of that was due to my learning and becoming more patient or from increased freight rates out there. Steeper fuel discounts and much larger savings on things like tires.

Ok. I really have to wonder where people get their info from. Was talking to another driver at my pickup and she was trying to tell me that you have to pull into a closed weigh station if you get a red light on the pre pass. Her logic was that it is really open but they don't want every truck to pull in, only the ones that get a red light.

Me and another driver tried explaining to her that is not the case and that closed is closed. It just means they forgot to turn off the prepass computer. She wasn't having it and just walked away back to her truck.

I guess in her defense the little pamphlet for the prepass says to ignore the sign...

But you would think common sense would tell you not pull into a closed weigh station. What would she do if that happened at a weigh station that had gates on the ramp?
