I saw 5 of them running south in a pack today on I-81 in VA, then several miles behind it was a 6th one. Most were dragging vans, but one of them was pulling a pneumatic tanker (had MACK plastered on the side of the tank), and there may have been a flatbed in the pack as well, but now I can't remember.
All six had the same paint scheme. Black or very dark brown with a single grey stripe about 1/3 from the bottom of the cab.
My guess is those were test ride trucks with reporters riding or driving them. Probably picked them up at the Mack plant on I-81 (I think Shenandoah, VA is where that plant is) and they test rode/drove them up to PA and back. Check your favorite trucking mags in a month or two for an article about them.

I don't think they still make them in VA anymore. I could be wrong and I probably am but I think they are made in MD or PA.

This started flapping in the wind half way between York, NE and Grand Island, NE while it was raining. Pulled off to call it in and continued my west bound movement for the TA in Grand Island. Before I got here, it done broke off and flew into a pasture. Problem fixed itself. Lol. Called breakdown back and reported it. They said no problem and have the trailer flagged so next it comes into the yard it will get an upgrade to the new style they are using.
Looks worse than it while going down the road. Just have to keep an eye on it and make sure it doesn't continue to rip apart.

Well, the 50mph+ wind gusts coming across Elk Mountain was the of that trailer skirt. It was blowing out a good 3ft from the trailer. At the TA I'm Rawlins having it completely removed before it totally rips away. Got lucky yesterday, not trying to push my luck.
So, this trailer will only have the skirt on the driver side.
Update: Got lucky. Had no wait for the work. Breakdown was on the ball to authorize the work. Toral time in the shop was 15min.Last edited: Sep 19, 2017
