Update 1642: Turns out that the truck wouldn't regen because a SCR Temp Sensor went bad and computer was getting contradictory readings so it wouldn't allow a regen.

The city horn stopped working because the SAMCAB module went bad and the horn wasn't getting power.

Then because it wouldn't be a shop if they didn't throw some curve balls at you. Coolant surge tank has a bulge and hairline crack that is barely noticeable and they recommended replacing the air dryer since it has never been done. I said ok but you have to explain the surprise addons to JCT. So, they called them and JCT called me. It was approved but Breakdown told them to stop with the surprises.

Plus side is that all of the parts are in stock and should be done tomorrow.

Also found out from Freightliner that the actual warranty on the truck is 500,000 miles. Only the motor itself is 5year/700,000 mile.

Yep. But the SAMCAB module isn't. It's 500k miles. My truck has 553k miles on it and the SAMCAB is $1200 by itself.

    Yeah, non major component.

What I find odd is we have roadcall coverage....

I would consider a major component. Without that your instrument cluster don't work and some other stuff like city horn and some lights. But apparently parts of it can stop working because only the city horn didn't work.

Yeah, need an electrical warranty. Surprised that doesn't fall under the wiring harness and connectors.

That was part of the truck warranty and on the '15; that was over at 500k. At least the way it was explained to me by the Freightliner shop.

Also I now see why I didn't get back as much as I thought I would with my starter repair earlier this year. Parts have their warranty but labor is not after 100K miles. And its not part of the extended engine warranty either. Good to know...

I did however get back everything on that coolant leak from Detroit Diesel that I had repaired at TA. Two new lines and enough coolant to drown an elephant.....500 bucks got put back into my maintenance on this settlement.
