Don’t get me wrong, CARB thinks they are something special but you rarely ever see them anywhere. More trucks that are old and dirty run in California than clean ones.

That's what I was saying about all of our APUs at JCT every one of them are not California compliant. There are bolt on DPF filters for both carrier and Thermo King. Supposedly Makes them compliant I guess .. yet the reefers have none... Well at the moment.
That's why on some trucks you see both the clean idle sticker and the verified clean APS sticker for the APU. I seen them mainly on internationals so it may just be a manufacturer APS. Kind of like the park smart by Freightliner...
That being said I've never once been bothered...MachoCyclone and CannonballAA Thank this. -
I wouldn't worry too much about it because carb already stated that their next focus is on trailers and making sure the trailers are compliant in regards to aero and low-rolling-resistance tires...
Plus California's very hypocritical they want to force idle reduction technology for trucks to lower pollution but they are one of only about four states that don't give any exemption for weight...
