Do they have layover pay here? I am delivering in laredo at us cold storage. They didn't preplan me out. There are tons of jct here getting loaded. If I get stuck here until tomorrow night, can I get layover pay for not getting a load and having to sit and wait.

drvrtech77, TAfool and MachoCyclone Thank this.

Seriously tho, no. We are not company drivers.

Had to wait til the end of the pick-up window for JCT to start emailing people to figure out what was going on and it was a weekend and a holiday to add to the wait. Finally ended up having to go get my empty back and deadhead over to Lexington, Ne.kanidana Thanks this. -
If it's a JCT screw up, then they will take care of you. Reasons such as no load, or sitting due to low hours is not on them.

Thanks for the info. It's frustrating to sit all day, deliver at a place that we pick up from all of the time, have plenty of hours, watch tons of jct drivers picking up loads from that place, and get stuck in laredo. Also, my load coming in here was only 430 miles from Fort worth starting the brand new pay period.

Got "layover" pay on a refused load by Stater Brothers because Tyson put in the wrong temp recorders, then they kept me on the load while they figured out what to do with it. More like detention I guess because Tyson paid it. And it was a rather large amount...

I'm currently stuck back at cold storage waiting on another load...short on product...will be here all day. 445 miles back to fort worth. Fun times. -
Im glad i dispatch myself now. I got tired of dealing with dispatchers and planners. Setting yourself up b4 u deliver is wonderful.
drvrtech77 Thanks this. -
Now, if you were doing a planned restart, you can't get layover.Steel Tiger Thanks this.
