OK all I've got a #####. you sit somewhere for nine hours and they don't give you detention and then they tell you because you were loaded before the dropdead time how many other drivers are having this problem. So I guess the only recourse is to wait till your four hours before the dropdead time to arrive so u don't sit for up to 12hrs with no detention.

So you either wait all day to get there at 4 PM because they close at eight and don't get any miles or you go over there and sit and hope they get u loaded b4 your time runs out or so that u can get some miles in.

The tape on the trailers to mark the 40 mark, do you put that in the center of the tire of the first tandem, or the second?

One tool no driver should be without is the Rand McNally Deluxe Motor Carriers' Road Atlas. It is a MUST have tool. The info you seek is in there.

I buy new every two, looking to pick up 2016.

2014 is page A16. Assuming you are asking about Cali? Center rear axle.

Don't trust any trailer marks, a lot are flat out not 40' marks just seemingly random decorations.

Yeah you'll learn how to deal with Tyson. You'll never get detention pay if you pick up in the appointment window no matter how long you wait. Allot of companies it's the same way. I find it more frustrating to deliver to Casa Grande Walmart and they flat out tell you "we have up to four hours to unload you" for two pallets. And they alllllllllways take 3 hours 50 minutes.

Detention seems to be a mixture of New Math, Fuzzy Math and a sprinkle of Ebonics for good measure. I've received it when never requested and saw no need for it and been denied it when requested and should clearly have been paid.

For me its one of the "bad" that I gag down in order to get the "good" that I see here.

$1,200 for a tire blowout??... I would definitely be inquiring with somebody to find out who screwed up where... As an extreme amount for a tire blowout...unless something else occurred with it

800+ for the tire plus roadside? Maybe even a rim as they are singles and will drag on the road. Not too far out of the realm of possibility

Whenever you are negative on a settlement, that amount gets carried over to the following settlement. So for instance, if you were $100 in the negative on today's settlement, that goes towards next week's settlement. If you are bringing home $800 next week, subtract the negative amount of $100. Your new take home amount is now $700.

As far as a $1200 tire repair.....If was a road side repair, they can get ridiculously expensive. You'll get charged the amount of the tire on the national account plus the service call amount. The service call amount is what gets you as the tire prices on account are reasonable.
