If you're going to be moving across the middle of the country primarily cross I 80 high 70 and Kansas and possibly i-40 there is going to be a major winter storm blowing through there the first part of next week with Blizzard type conditions... It's going to cover most of Kansas I believe parts of Oklahoma Nebraska Iowa and move and East

    By the way all the major truck chains get their fuel from the same place... If there's an issue with the fuel it could be one of a couple of things... One,could be a cross contamination done by the driver who dropped the fuel, 2, if there's water in the fuel that's because water got into the drop tank when It was being dropped into the ground by fuel transport driver.. all of the major places get un branded diesel fuel there is no such thing as branded diesel fuel all comes unbranded from the rack

    However they all mix it differently. Loves is usually about 5% bio and pfj is about 18% .

    I have to say seeing the changes around JCT from the outside has been interesting to say the least. First I want to make it clear, while I no longer work with JCT I am forever grateful to the family and the Company. They are a business and as such I would hope they would put themselves in a position to be profitable. I was always paid what I was entitled to per our contract. In time I began to understand there was more available. That being said, after reading the posts here this morning numbers just kept going through my head and so I am jotting them down.
    Assuming JCT is averaging .40 cpg in rebate (less than my average at the T.A.) and they pay you .12 that leaves them with .28 cpg X 180,000 gallons (600 trucks times 300 Gallons per week) equals $50,400.00 per week $201600.00 per month and $2,419,200.00 per year. I have heard time and time again that they do this or that but JCT drivers benefit by being paid empty and loaded. The numbers I just laid out are conservative in total number of trucks, gallons purchased and doesnt even include gallons purchased for reefer and they still would cover 2.3 million miles of empty pay at .90 cpm plus the current fuel surcharge. This is a pennies business. Dont expect any company to change their contract to suite you. If you arent getting enough, figure out how to put yourself into a position to get a larger piece of the pie.

    My empty miles for 2015 8 months (since I started in April) was 7000 miles. So 11k or so a year empty miles at 600 trucks is 6600000 miles. At 90 cents that's 5,940,000.00.

    92k miles loaded. 139500 for a full year. 83,700,000 miles for the Fleet. 1.89 is average contract rate. It was over 40 cents higher last year at this time. Gives a total of 158,193,000.00. Our cut is 77,004,000.00. +5,940,000.00.

    Of course that's conservative numbers and doesn't include brokerage where they make money without really having to do things. Also we are paying for the trucks and fuel so they keep more of their cut than we do.

    To put things into perspective, Swift's owner operator empty pay is less than loaded, and its 1.075 for dry van empty. 1.088 loaded over 800+ miles plus FSC. And they get a bonus per mile after three years service, base plates and permits provided, and reimbursed tolls. So the argument about how much stuff "given" to us because they take something else is meh because ifta is about the only thing I don't see covered at places.

    They are also muuuuch larger and I don't want to be starved into training. And I don't think they pass any fuel rebates along.

    Again I'm happy here. And I only reference Swift because I have a family member who retired from there started as a driver and left as safety supervisor. Tried getting me to go there. And my old team mate at my last company was a former trainer.

    image.png I don't work or drive for JCT but man I would highly suggest the NASTC fuel card. You get a list every day. The first price is retail, second price is cash, and third price is what I pay in yellow. It's rebates onto my fuel card. Anyways, this is a screen shot. TA/Petro only.

    I'm in process of getting one, been talking to them about it, just need to get Fleet One to approve my card first
