Running with JCT, Part Deux

I will admit, when I first started here, I did use PFJ almost exclusively. Then as time went on and I started to open my eyes by talking to other drivers (from here and other companies) I started to realize that why should the company get the rebate from the fuel I pay for. They are not buying the fuel. I am. At that moment I said screw it, I don't like PFJ anyway, so I started looking for better priced fuel. And I quickly saw how easy it was to save 10 plus cents a gallon versus the PFJ price with the discount.

Don't get me wrong, I do like it here. It is still a good fit for me and I have a good DM. I just see no reason for a company to profit from the fuel rebate on fuel they don't buy.

JCT would love it if they got every driver to exclusively use PFJ. They would make millions in pure profit. But, they can't make us fuel the trucks at one place or another. The lines of company and lease driver are blurry enough from a legal stand point. Locking us to only one fuel place would unblurr that line and not in their favor.

I'm leaving the ok yard with a load headed that way. Glad I got my tires checked at Loves.

 

There was not a single driver that was positive of it. The overall feeling was one of "Hey im a company driver again, just I have to pay for everything." Not really true, but most felt stabbed in the back. I did fill up at a P/FJ last night, still havent figured out 1) WHen the rebate for truck fuel is posted to card, and 2) HOW TO GET IT OFF THE CARD!

 

In other news, im headed for PFG Empire in Opa-Locka, currently a the Vero Beach, T/A. Anyone ever been to this place? Im about 2:30 out for an 0630 delivery. Then its to Lake Wales and a swap in Milton and finally to the house.

Wow after reading all of that mess it makes me glad I left when I did. Wish you guys all the best and hopefully all that crap gets straightened out.
