Did they go back to the ThermoKing Apu or are you going to put up with the Carrier, Steel Tiger?

I'm slated to get a new one as well, somehow have to convince the shop I need an inverter installed. I know it has been done before just hope it won't be a headache.

Asked them last week about them. They said they install them for drivers with medical issues like sleep apnea. Anything where you need power and if the apu is not working your out of luck.
I thought to myself, I bet I have sleep apnea... lol

They want to cheap out on the apu because the thermokings are getting" too advanced" (direct quote) then I'll get an rv shop to do the inverter install.

    CannonballAA Thanks this.

I do miss the convenience of the APU. But at least for now, I have chosen IdleSmart to handle my heat/air and electrical needs. The intent when I purchased this truck is to stretch the frame within 3 years and the sleeper in 4. At that point I will install a true generator. We will see if I stick with that mentality after summer lol.

The newer Evolution series of APU's from what I've been told have stepped backwards on the control board and UI. Not sure how going back to dials instead of the buttons is getting to advanced.

As far as an inverter just go into a dealer they can install them the factory way for about 100 bucks.

    CannonballAA Thanks this.

I've been told the new TK APU uses DEF and has it's own DPF.

The pin is the only dock and I measured using the google maps tool and that's not even 53 feet of dock space. Its a restaurant.... 2 pallets...and leaving is a one way street through residentials....I don't think a full truck should be down there...
