Some states even snap photos of your truck as you pass by, which is why when I'm coming to a border scale in OK. I hit the cruise control, strip naked and lay sideways across the dash board. It's important that the DOT sees you have nothing to hide. If a camera ends up exploding into sparks and flings its self through the windshield of a passing four-wheeler, so be it.

Yeah but Banning is such a big and busy scale they aren't going to pay much attention. I'm not saying do it at every scale but with Banning you can justify it wasn't safe because you were sitting in line out on the freeway waiting to go in.

 

Which ever card you get just make sure it's a Cat 10 card or greater. You can get a Samsung Cat 10 32 gig card from Best Buy for 24.99 which is good for 4K recording and last 7.5 - 8 hrs before looping in my Garmin dashcam on 1080HD recording

 

With the prepass anyway, you'd have a high percentage chance of getting a green go ahead light. Reason I ran north on 95 was because I didn't have prepass and my company was a hot target of California scales. When I'm all done with trucking I will have to share some outlaw stories about that./

 

When I ran for Lowrie I would usually just run around banning and jump up 162 or 62 whichever it is out of Palm Springs and run up through pearlblossom.
