I dropped my load at Taylor Farms in Dallas. Go to their drop lot to grab an empty. 3 JCT trailers there.....3 JCT trailers NOT in D.O.T compliance. SMDH.
Informed the planner and asked him which one he wanted me to grab and drop at Ft Worth yard. Yes, drop. I refused to get any of them repaired. He laughed and said driver's choice. So I grabbed one, took it to yard, red tagged it, then went to go find my loaded trailer.
Find my loaded trailer and guess what? 3 tires are bad. Took pictures, made comments with my handy S-pen and sent to breakdown. The reply was "oh yeah, let's get them replaced."
That makes 10 out of 17 trailers that have not been D.O.T compliant and left for another driver to deal with.

With all these new hires it seems we need to have Mallory focus on it. Man there are a lot of new trucks At The yard.
CannonballAA Thanks this. -
If you opened the door to the port-a-potty in the Ft. Worth drop yard, and your eyebrows were burned off along with half your face I'm sorry. Wolf Brand Chilli struck again.
MachoCyclone and Steel Tiger Thank this. -

Dude just ask me was my reefer gonna be running all night. I told him it better be. He moved to another parking spot.

The ones that always got me was the guys in AZ and NM that would say something but yet they are sitting there with their trucks idling.
crxdc, dhkwanderer, Kamkor and 1 other person Thank this. -
I dont get what bothers people about reefers so much. Most from what i notice idle anyway and do the ones that dont ##### to idlers about idling... no.
dhkwanderer Thanks this. -
Well there are certain JCT reefers that are extraordinarily loud, but for the most part, I find the sound comforting. I'd rather have them on continuous than on start/stop. Just at the wrong moment, the reefer starts, and I get startled. I get back to sleep quick enough. When a reefer unit is on continuous, it blocks the outside noise. I even run a loud inverted to block out even more noise. I've always found truck stop atmospheres to be noisy as can be. Anything to block out that noise is alright by me.
dhkwanderer Thanks this. -
I'm pulling a thermo king reefer for the first time in about a month...I miss them. So quiet. I feel less guilty parking next to someone with them. The carriers that JCT ordered are so loud and squeaky. Seems like other companies carriers are much quieter for some reason...
CannonballAA, dhkwanderer and Top off Thank this. -
I'm on hometime now. When I parked my truck i was greeted with the smell of sulphur coming from my battery box. Hopefully it'll crank after I'm off hometime and I can throw a cheap battery in there from Sapulpa.
