Running with JCT, Part Deux

Wasn't supposed to come of hometime till this morning. Get a dozen calls last night around 2300 begging for help on a load. The "Shelley Special," Sherman to Ochelata.
They threw some incentive money and a pick of next load. Asked if they had anything going to the northeast. Allentown, here I come.

 

Something "special" there, don't know if it's the tires.....ha ha, jk Steel

 

Another Shelley Special is sending you a pre-plan that has only one drop, but the load plan shows three. On the phone you're told that's all they have coming out of TX take it or leave it. Back when I was solo I denied loads going to TX, so I wouldn't have to deal with her, unless it was a simple drop off in the drop yard.

Driving team I-10 is my home now from CA to FL and back. The rare times I've been on the 40 I've always been asked to rescue a load. Last swap I did the refeer engine blew oil all over the back of the truck, which I only discovered after an alarm for low coolant tripped. The driver I swapped with must have cleared the alarm because it wasn't long after I picked it up from him that the amber light came on.

 

Yeah... I don't even worry about the safety bonus. It takes care of itself. Even when my truck was down for a week and in the same quarter I upgraded I still made it with plenty to spare.

 

In the past 13 weeks, I've been off 5 full weeks. Needless to say, I won't be making the bonus. LOL

 

I don't really worry about it. It's just nice to know if I can expect it or not.

3 strikes and you're out with trailers. 1st offense for non DOT compliant or Dirty Trailer from the yard is a written warning, 2nd is a fine, 3rd is John Mallory.

Paid to clean/repair trailers.
