Laughably low. Unless you like driving 25 year old trucks.

Low enough that your time is better compensated as an OTR driver.

Certainly low enough to make @road_runner jump ship.

And depending on the OTR outfit you'd at least get a decently maintained later model truck.

I can only speak for my terminal and the surrounding ones in Montana. Linehaul started at $0.39/mile and $20/hour. They topped off at $23/hour and $0.52/mile or so.

The pay was reasonable and the benefits were great. I quit because I wanted to move back to SC to be closer to my aging parents. If I stayed in MT, I would have probably quit because the job tempo and the treatment of us was idiotic at best.

Sounds about roughly the same when I almost took a linehaul position with them in Denver a few years ago. But after dealing with high prices in CA for most of my life, that drop in pay and a move back to a costly area made me drop the ball on that. I mean, they offered to bump it to .52/mile to compensate for the COL increase, but nope.

I still think ODFL is the top dog when it comes to pay in the linehaul department. I keep getting numbers of up to .60/.70 a mile. Of course each time I apply to the terminal in ABQ, it seems transfers get first dibs on anything that opens up as opposed to off-the-street hires.

The big cities in neighboring states keep calling me. But I guess I'm just not "about that life".

Varies on what is important to you. OD and FxF pay out the highest in terms of numbers. But Reddaway has the best health insurance. The plan I had was BCBS Silver and was valued around $15/hour. My monthly deductible for my entire family was only $50.

It all depends on what works best for you.

Ever since I got fired from Ruan, I pretty much became one of those zombies that pays out of pocket for my own insurance. So I'm not really fazed either way.
