Hey, good testimony.
I thought hourly jobs typically involved physical labor.
Also, you got a sleeper while most hourly people are trying to take a nap in the day cab.
Are you comfortable telling us who you work for?
Salary/Hourly/CPM ...what do you think?

I'm totally ignorant on that subject. Could you tell us a little more?

I am currently inquiring about the local jobs here. I need to hear from drivers doing it - the main question is how many hours they have to work.
-
I forgot how much I got paid, but it was per case. For example if I had 800 cases in the trailer I made x amount IF it's empty of course. To be realistic I believe 400 cases a day was my minimum. Also picking up returns and empty 2 liter shells mean more money.
If you work fast enough, u could be done in 6 hours with your route. I was tuesday-Friday with 3 days off. Loved it.dogtrucker Thanks this. -
I just sent them a message about the turn over suggesting it had little to do with the pay (which is pretty good) and a lot to do with dispatchers - anyway, that is what every driver I ever spoke to here has told me.
-
Thanks for pointing out that there are other options. I'll keep it in mind.

the time I was With kb I seen many drivers outside cleaning their trucks out, every one I spoke with was quitting because of their dispatcher. Not one said anything about the pay.Kb may not run drivers hard but if they have a load you better take it and don't plan on stopping if you have something wrong with your truck dispatch will want you to try your very hardest to get to the cust. One guy I spoke with quit because dispatch tried telling him where to take his brake and not listening to the driver. As long as you're at the customer on time It shouldn't matter to dispatch where you take your brake.Dominick253 and dogtrucker Thank this.

Ray works around 12 hrs a day and every other weekend which is usually on sat if his loads are ready otherwise it's Sunday,he take two loads to council bluffs. The wekends he doesn't work he gets Mondays off.I think the highest paid local salary is $975.00 a week but not for sure. This week Ray deadheads to stormlake picks up load takes it to council bluffs then dead heads to Madison picks up booed and then back to Dakota city and he's done thats about a ten hr run.So he will work sat or Sun and have mon off then the following week he will have the weekend off and work Monday.only thing that changes is the time the load will be ready. So dispatch texts Ray the load info.

I'm paid salary, plus profit sharing. I don't work for a traditional "trucking" company, instead I'm in the entertainment biz, and trucks to us are just a means of getting gear from show to show. I'm not just a truck driver, but also an LED video tech, electronics repairman, generator repairman, crew chief and laborer. I work far harder than I ever did in trucking under CPM pay, but I also make a lot more, have more time off, more responsibility, autonomy and potential for growth.
Today I worked 9 hours, yesterday close to 15, and the week+ before was 8-9 a day. In the next 5 days I'll be in site for 12-14 hours a day, but that'll include naps and a LOT of web surfing. -
Don't tell the DOT that. They will want you to log all that time working at a show as on duty not driving. It's a racket.Dominick253 Thanks this.
