Hey all. I bought a truck for the first time last month to continue my business in a way that doesn't bankrupt me immediately. However, I live in Tennessee, and I bought it in Texas. The company I am leased onto handles registration after titling in Indiana. I'm not sure where I should pay Sales Tax to. TN sent me a Sales Tax exemption form for a Title Only app, but I'm not sure if I should submit it or pay TN sales tax and just get the title that way. Any advice is welcome.

Title it in your domicile state only. Do not title it in any other state.
Tennessee doesn’t tax rolling stock, hence the tax exemption form,Rideandrepair, Generictrucker and Dave_in_AZ Thank this. -

If used in interstate transportation it's tax exempt. So title it in Tennessee. Your motor carrier will only need a copy of the front/back of it once it's in your name so they can add it to their IRP. No need to transfer the title after you have it done in TN in your name.
feldsforever Thanks this.
