On Sammons lease purchase you will get gouged for %12.
Other lease purchase plans (not carrier based) depends on how the lease is structured. You need to totally school yourself on the different truck leases available out there. Do not....and I want to stress....do not do a lease purchase through the carrier. Take the time to learn and educate yourself on all aspects of truck ownership. If you lease purchase through a carrier remember this....the truck is not yours and you have absolutely no rights regarding it PERIOD!
If you opt to lease the truck through an outside finance company at least the truck is yours.....and you are solely responsible for it and your business when you lease to a carrier. At the end of the lease there are usually several options available to you regarding keeping the truck, trading it etc etc.

Sure glad I didn't listen to you moglar, if I had I couldn't have paid my mortgage last month, had huge repair bill that would have killed me if I had financed elsewhere
-
You have no business owning a truck if you cant pay for the repairs It is your responsibility to repair the truck....not the carriers! LOL. Trucking is a multi-headed hydra. The biggest item is to establish a solid maintenance fund to cover repairs, tires etc etc. Also partner with trucking organizations and set up accounts to get reduced prices on repairs and tires. Use the carriers discounts if they offer them. IN THE END ITS YOUR RESPONSIBILITY TO KEEP THE TRUCK IN RUNNING ORDER. I worked an additional 2 years to save up enough for my maintenance account. Ill be ###### if I am going to buy a truck with no means of paying for repairs. Besides saving money I have several avenues in place to pay for significant repairs if needed.
The reason they paid for repairs is because the truck is not yours!!!!!
Get it!

How is it working out for you.. -
MOGLAR...lmao! I have done it both ways. Owned my own when I was leased on to Landstar, now doing lb with Sammons. It is working beautifully for me simply because I don't have to be lead around the country by the nose, and do my job. Sorry you are so bitter about lp, but then judging your avatar, well, enough said (still lamo).
Folks, there's absolutely nothing wrong with Sammons. I have been working with them for about 2 years. Most folks in the office I really cherish. Others I wouldn't give a nod to on the street (kind of like you). Run your truck like a business, and you'll be fine.logans and Hittman 306 Thank this. -
BTW, my truck is 1133...Those in the know will know who I am.
logans and Hittman 306 Thank this. -
Forgive me if this is a dumb question but will Sammons sell you tarps, and straps and edge protectors and things like that? Or do they just lease the truck
-
They will pay for them and put it against your truck note
-
Moglar isn't smart enough to know there is more than one way to run a business successfully
