Absolutely. I saw one of their trucks yesterday and had me thinking about Smurf. Good to hear from him.

Maybe you should have taken the new Peterbilt..

    Wheel seal out?

Maybe they won’t joke around and say, “We offered you a new truck, you didn’t have to burn that one down…”

JoeyJunk, Speed_Drums and bzinger Thank this.

Glad no one got hurt. It’s nice to be able to make jokes about stuff like this.

    The Story.....
Last Tuesday I picked up a load of Spam at Hormel in Austin, MN heading to Hutchins ,TX for 0700 delivery Friday morning. I stopped at Tonkawa,OK for my 10. I got up the next morning and did my pre trip with around 380 left on my trip. I drove about 15 miles to Perry OKLAHOMA when I FELT a tire blow. I slowed to about 20mph turned my flashers on and eased about 1/2 mile to the pull off truck area. I saw I had TWO blown tires not one! Both on the front drive axle on the driver's side. Then noticed it was on fire in between the wheels. I was able to put it out with my fire extinguisher.
I immediately called 911 because it was still smoldering and my fire extinguisher was empty. After about 3 minutes sure enough it reignited. I poured a bottle of water on it but it didn't really make much difference. Because of the divided highway, it took the firefighters 31 minutes to arrive. By that time it had burned through the sleeper and caught my mattress. I lost almost everything in my truck. No insurance will cover it. I have asked!! So get a bigger fire extinguisher!!!

misterG, JoeyJunk, Zangief and 8 others Thank this.
